A List of All-New and Redesigned Crossovers in the 2021 Model Year

With the 2020 year coming to a close, the automotive industry has had many twists and turns. However, some exciting things are headed to dealerships in the upcoming year. Even with just crossovers and SUVs, all-new, and redesigned crossovers await those looking for a fresh ride. At Matador Motors, we go over these new models below:

All-New Crossovers in 2021

  • Toyota RAV4 Prime
  • Kia Seltos
  • Ford Mustang Mach-E
  • Volkswagen ID.4
  • Volkswagen Taos

Though the 2021 year looks to be filled with revivals of our favorite classic SUVs, there are several all-new models arriving onto the automotive scene. Though we’ve had the 2021 Kia Seltos for most of 2020, its subcompact size and available turbo engine make for a fun ride. Meanwhile, the 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime – while similar to RAV4 Hybrid models – is the Plug-In Hybrid option. Plus, it receives up to 302 horsepower to provide even more strength in an electric hybrid model. Lastly, Ford is now entering the electric SUV sphere with the all-new Ford Mustang Mach-E. With standard and GT Performance trims, the model has up to a 3.5 second 0-60 time despite being completely electric. The 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 will also make its arrival as the brand’s first electric compact crossover.

Redesigned Crossovers for the 2021 Model Year

  • Nissan Rogue
  • Kia Sorento
  • Buick Envision
  • Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 & 4xe

Lastly, many family crossovers and SUVs will also be getting a facelift in the 2021 model year. Jeep continued its options by adding to the 2021 Jeep Wrangler powertrain options. While the Rubicon 392 version brings up to 470 horsepower in its V-8 engine, the 4xe model is the brand’s first hybrid Wrangler model. The 2021 Kia Sorento will also now offer a hybrid powertrain, which gives it up to a 37 Combined fuel economy rating. It should also be noted that the Volkswagen Tiguan has also been announced as a redesign, but its 2021 changes were only applied to European models. Instead, we Americans will find fresh changes in the 2022 model year.
